work party 24th to 31st march

04/04/2012

Well all the boys arrived on Saturday and after a cup of tea we walked round the lake to see what work needed to be done and pick which swims they wanted to fish. With only 7  fishing there was way too much choice, but once  they decided, I told them to Bivvy up and after dinner they could fish. Sunday we were netting one of my stock ponds to remove a ton  of 7 to 9 kg carp to move onto a bigger lake for 2 years.

Just before dinner I notice that Gary was into a fish, you guessed it he just could not wait till after  dinner, a stunning 46-08lb mirror ''now'' the bad news he had no un hooking mat, no recovery sling and no bucket  for water. You can say I was I was not impressed. Thank god for my quad, in Gary's defence if hes got one,  he did keep the carp in the landing net till we got all the stuff in the swim.

Sunday went well, the boy's enjoyed the netting as this was their first netting. The weather for the week was sunny with temps. rangeing  between 15 to 22 in the day and 0 to 8 at night.

After three day's work the boy's had 56 carp for the week with 4  over 40lb to 46-08lb and the rest of the fish averaging around 35lb mark, and we aso had 6 droped fish.

All the swims produced fish that were fished. I just like to thank all the boy's for their hard work and just a note the POINT looks great. Looking forward to next week when we open for the 2012 season.
