WORK PARTY 22-03-2014 TO 29-03-2014

06/04/2014

The weather the week before the work party was 16-20 and just what we wanted for  work and fishing. But you guest it, the weahter changed. Temputures went down to 8-10 during the day -3 at night, and hail stonnes just to top it off. Once all the boys had arrived it was still dry so they picked their swims and set up house. It wasn''t long before the rain came. In between the rain the boys baited up and then it was time to eat. It didn't take long for the first  fish Martin had a stunning 40-04lb common from left of 61 and  by the time  i went and got the camara  he was playing another fish which was a short mirror that last came out at 34lb and now weighs in at 37-08lb. At 6-30am the radio go's and it was Steve telling me Martins had a 45-08llb common and for  me to come and take some photos. Once I got to 61 Steve and martin were both waiting for me and once we got the fish out I recognized this to be cut tail the only trouble now  is the tail has grown back which is  great news. This fish has been stuck at round the 40lb mark for  two years because of its taill. It was nice to see it in such good condition! So the tally so far for the first night was martin taking 4 fish 2 upper 30's and 2 40+ fish. Hans in Steve's taking 4 x 30+, and dropping 2 and Rolf taking a small grass carp and dropping 1. So for just 1 nights fishing 9 fish and 3 dropped. lets see what Sunday night has to offer? Well Sunday night we took 6 fish with Remy taking  a cracking 42lb mirror from the Lodge. Rolf taking 3  30+ fish from R2. Serge taking a 30lb+ mirror from orange tree and Hans in steve's taking 1 more a 30lb+ mirror. Steve (3am) in Banzais dropped 2 and Big steve in 61 right dropped 2. The weather now was  getting colder by the day and the  fishing was slowing up, with only fishing the nights as we were working during the days made it even harder as I'm sure they were feeding durning the days when the temputure was at it highest. By the end of the week the boys done a great job of all the jobs i had given them and the lake was looking great and ready for the first anglers. The weather for next week was looking good so i'm sure they will have a great week. The boys ended up with 28  fish for the week and dropped 9 which I thought was  pretty good as the boys only fished at night and the weather was so shit!. I would just like to thank all the guys for a great work party and soical and see you in may when you come back..
