WEEK 1 29-03-2014 TO 05-04-2014

08/04/2014

Well what a change in the weather, spring has arrived. The water temputure has gone from 10 to 14 in just 3 days and the fish are ready starting to move around the lake.A lot of the fish are down in the west and east arm's of the lake making the most of the sunny weather. The boys arrived late due to some problems with work and  by time they had set the bivvy's up it was well dark, and only two of them fished Saturday. No fish was had on the first night but the anglers looked a lot better in the morning  and were rearing to go! Our first fish came to Rob on 61 left at 01.15am a 31-06lb mirror then Mike in 61 right smashed his PB by 22lbs with a MONSTER 57-12lb mirror, his first word's were "Thats it I can go home now!! Next up was Del in tight squeeze with a 34-04lb mirror. Then Rob was on the radio again telling me that Mike was really happy that he hadn't gone home as he just landed another MONSTER mirror. When I got round to the swim they were just weighing the fish , wow what a fish the scales winged round  to  52-03lb a brace of 50's. Both fish fell to double 20mm lipsmacker bottom baits. The next fish came to Del in tight squeeze a lovely 37-00lb mirror. So after no fish on Saturday the boys ended up with 7 fish by Sunday morning. The fishing had slowed up a tad and we only put two more fish on the bank on Monday both fish fell to Rob on 61 left a 32lb common and a cracking 48-08lb mirror. Tuesday we had 2 more upper 30's which fell to Shaun in M2 and 1 to Chris in the Lodge, a lovely 42-08lb mirror. Wednesday James was the only one  to put fish on the bank with 2 upper 30lb mirrors and a 28-05lb common in R2. Thursday Chris in the lodge was back on the fish taking a MONSTER 54-12lb mirror at 04.30am and at 05.20am a 29-10lb common, again both fish fell to lipsmacker bait single 15mm. Friday fishing picked up and fish came from all over the lake. Del in tight squeeze taking 2 fish, a 36-08lb mirror and a PB 48-10lb mirror. Mick in Banzais banking a lovely 38-06lb common. Shaun in M2 taking a 27-06lb common and a peach of a mirror at 47-12lb. Rob in  61 left  taking a 29-10lb mirror and Chris  in the Lodge with another cracking 45-10lb mirror. The boys ended up with 25 fish   3 x 50lb+ 7 x 40lb+  which 5 were over 45lb and 14 x 30lb+ . Their  avrage for the week was 38-09lb "close one boys" they dropped 7 fish and lost 2 in the snag's. I like to thank the boys for  great week and looking after my fish.  See you next year .
